About the work: The honeycomb disc has been “made by bees” in place of the solid disc. It is based on The Townley Diskobolos which in turn is a Roman copy of the famous Myron’s bronze original. Currently in @britishmuseum (2nd century) it was found at Hadrian’s Villa at Tivoli. This marble copy is notable for its controversial and incorrect “restoration” in the 18th century of its head. The bees have added their own spin on it.
